Jason Momoa gallivanting via one’s goals appears like a – await it – dream come true. Fortunately for teenagers in all places, the actor’s newest movie, Slumberland, is a family-friendly fantasy journey that includes Momoa as a sharp-toothed wily, horned creature. His character is the right sidekick for any child who dares to enterprise into the dream world. While director Francis Lawrence’s Slumberland takes inspiration from the comedian, it fails to seize the whimsy and delight of its origins.
Adapted from the sketch Little Nemo in Slumberland from Winsor McCay, Slumberland follows Nemo (Marlow Barkely), a younger lady who travels via the dreamworld with a satyr-like outlaw (Momoa). After her father’s loss of life, she is distributed to stay along with her boring uncle, and shortly after, she is woke up to a world past slumber.
